About Family Travel Netherlands

Hi, I’m Emma!

Welcome to Family Travel Netherlands — a blog about family travel in the Netherlands where I share real experiences and practical advice for traveling with kids.

I’m a Dutch mum of two. Together with my family, I explore the country and look for places that are not only beautiful, but also genuinely enjoyable with children. Traveling in the Netherlands with kids is different. That’s why I focus on what actually works in real life, not just what sounds good on paper.

How it started

At first, I found it difficult to plan simple trips in the Netherlands with kids. There is a lot of information online, but not all of it is clear, up to date, or truly family-friendly. Because of that, I often spent too much time searching. Even then, I wasn’t sure what to expect.

That’s exactly why I started Family Travel Netherlands.

Now, I share the kind of information I was looking for myself. Everything is clear, practical, and based on real visits across the Netherlands.

Real experiences you can trust

Every guide on this website is based on our own experiences exploring the Netherlands with kids. I don’t just describe places. I explain what it’s actually like to visit them as a family.

For example, I look at how busy it gets. I check if it’s easy with a stroller. I consider how long you realistically stay and whether it’s worth your time and money. In addition, I include small details that make a big difference when planning family travel in the Netherlands.

Because of this, you won’t find perfect or unrealistic itineraries here. Instead, you’ll find honest advice that helps you plan your trip to the Netherlands with kids with confidence.

What you’ll find on this blog

On Family Travel Netherlands, I focus on simple and well-organised guides. The goal is always to make planning easier. Whether you’re visiting a city, planning a day trip, or looking for family-friendly activities in the Netherlands, you’ll find clear and practical information.

At the same time, I keep everything realistic. Traveling in the Netherlands with kids isn’t always smooth. That’s why I include both the highlights and the things you should know before you go.

Why this blog is different

There are many travel blogs about the Netherlands. However, not all of them focus on family travel. That’s why I created Family Travel Netherlands — to share clear, practical, and honest advice for families visiting the Netherlands with kids.

I don’t give general recommendations. Instead, I share what we actually experienced, what worked well, and what I would do differently next time. This helps you get a clear picture and decide what suits your family.

A little more about me

I live in the Netherlands with my husband and our two children. In our free time, we explore new places together. This includes cities, museums, playgrounds, nature areas, and smaller hidden spots.

Over time, these trips have turned into a growing collection of experiences. I now share them to help other families discover the best of the Netherlands with kids.

If you’re planning family travel in the Netherlands and looking for clear and honest advice, you’re in the right place.
